Do You Know?

So it happens that I've been a regular consumer of red-fleshed dragon fruit or so-called pitaya since a year ago, but it's not until last month that I found my urine got purplish-reddish color after I had my red pitaya. Well it scared me quite much. Have I consumed non-safe/ indigestible coloring agent?

Hence, I tried to google it and... what a relieve! Thanks to wikip***a which answered my question in a blink. It is written on the web that significant consumption of red-fleshed dragon fruit/ red pitaya (Latin name: Hylocereus costaricensis) results in red coloration of urine and faeces, or medically called pseudohematuria. Now, you're wondering how much dragon fruit I have, huh? LOL

So, I guess it's safe for me to have my red dragon fruit :) I know it's random,  my dear mates, but hope it helps!
